Draw the actual network
Arrange buses, lines, transformers, loads, generators, BESS and capacitor banks on a voltage-coloured single-line diagram.
Power-system studies without the desktop bottleneck
PSS/E-ready interconnection models, built in the browser.
Lay out the single-line, enter equipment data, solve the network and package the case as PSS/E-compatible files for utility review.
Target PSS/E revision 34 or 35 from the same case.
A practical PSS/E alternative
HV Power Flow brings network drafting, equipment data, studies and exchange checks into one accessible workspace. Your utility can receive familiar PSS/E formats and validate the case in its existing environment.
Open Power Flow StudioArrange buses, lines, transformers, loads, generators, BESS and capacitor banks on a voltage-coloured single-line diagram.
Capture equipment ratings, impedances, controls, sequence data and dynamic characteristics in organized inspectors.
Run load flow, fault, contingency, voltage-stability and RMS dynamic studies while the architecture is still easy to change.
Export the network and model records in PSS/E-compatible formats, with readiness checks that catch missing or inconsistent data.
Data-center interconnections
Represent the utility POI, redundant transformers, medium-voltage distribution, IT and UPS loads, cooling systems, standby generation, BESS and reactive-power controls in one electrical case.
See the dynamic responseBuild redundant transformer paths, collector buses, campus loads and on-site resources around the actual point of interconnection.
Represent power-electronic IT and UPS load, VFD cooling fans, pumps, chillers and conventional load components for dynamic studies.
Apply faults and switching events, then inspect voltage, frequency, MW and MVAr response across the campus.
Keep steady-state, sequence and dynamic records aligned for export into the utility's PSS/E review environment.
Large-jurisdiction workflows
ERCOT maintains a dedicated Large Load Interconnection process and publishes modelling resources for data centers and other large electronic loads. HV Power Flow helps project teams organize the network, sequence and dynamic data used in PSS/E-based review, then identify gaps before licensed validation.
HV Power Flow is not affiliated with or approved by ERCOT. Current ERCOT, TSP, DSP and utility requirements remain controlling and project-specific.
One case, end to end
Keep the electrical architecture, calculations, study results and exported records tied to the same model.
Draft the single-line and enter project equipment.
Run the AC power flow and review limits and losses.
Test faults, contingencies, voltage response and events.
Resolve PSS/E readiness findings and missing data.
Deliver the case package for licensed verification.
Engineering workspace
Run the studies commonly needed to shape an interconnection before the formal utility process locks in the architecture.
Bus voltages, branch flows, transformer losses, loading and swing-bus balance.
Three-phase and unbalanced fault duties with sequence-network data.
Equipment outages, common-mode groups and ranked violations.
PV and QV sweeps for the base case and selected contingencies.
Partitioned implicit DAE studies for time-domain faults and switching events with selectable measurement channels.
Structured checks for PSS/E fields, dynamic records and submission gaps.
Time-domain response
This data-center case applies a fault at 34.5KV BUS 1 and records voltage, active power, reactive power and frequency on a shared time axis.
The deliverable matters
The export package is designed to move the model into PSS/E instead of trapping it in a separate web format. Choose the target revision, run the readiness checks and hand off files the reviewer already understands.
Explicit PSS/E 34 and 35 targets
Deterministic field and record ordering
Validation runner and readiness report
Solved-case values included where PSS/E stores them
project_case.raw
Exports buses, loads, machines, shunts, branches and transformers in the selected PSS/E RAW revision.
Designed for interconnections
PDF diagrams and spreadsheets explain a project. An importable electrical model lets the utility test it. HV Power Flow is built around that handoff from the first bus you place.
Questions
It is an accessible alternative for developing power-flow and interconnection models and preparing PSS/E-compatible files. Utilities can import and independently verify the exported case in their licensed PSS/E environment.
The app exports RAW network files, DYR dynamic-model records, a SEQ sequence-data companion, an SLD Builder workflow and a validation package. Availability depends on the data entered in the case.
Yes. A qualified professional must verify the engineering, manufacturer data, assumptions, study settings and local utility requirements. The app is a modelling and exchange tool, not professional approval.
Existing PSS/E RAW files can be imported for continued modelling. The project workspace also preserves the app diagram layout and case data for later work.
It can be used to develop the project-side network, study the proposed architecture and prepare PSS/E exchange files and readiness data. Current ERCOT and interconnecting-provider requirements, official study models, licensed validation and professional review still apply.
